Are you interested in helping seniors and disabled adults continue to live independently in their homes and communities? As a Meals on Wheels driver, you will ensure that hundreds of local seniors in Salem and Keizer are able to live the full, independent lives they deserve.

If you can spare a couple hours on a weekday, you can help improve the lives of neighbors facing the challenges of aging and lost mobility. It’s as simple as driving a short route, delivering a meal and saying a quick hello.

TO BECOME A MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVER

OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to meal delivery, we have exciting volunteer opportunities for non-driving support roles, including:

  • Distribution support – assist staff and drivers during meal distribution. Helping drivers carry bags to their cars, restocking meals and connecting drivers to staff are just some of the essential tasks. Come for the cookies and music, stay for the great time!
  • Meal preparation – the Meals on Wheels kitchen team prepares over 800 meals daily and needs your help. You need not be an expert chef to lend a hand, we’ll teach you all you need to know. Volunteers in this role work closely with staff to prepare trays of nutritious food, seal them for distribution, and much more.
  • Office support – if you’d like to assist with filing and folding in a fun office, then this is the role for you! Office support volunteers lend a hand with various projects that have a direct impact on seniors in our community.
